We are Matri

Accessories made by hand with Brazilian raw material. Transparency is present throughout the process of creating our products, which take an average of 30 days to develop, from creation to final product, made with exquisite techniques, from molding, assembly, cutting, sewing, painting, to finishing.
“We created the resin horn as a tribute to nature and the animals. It’s a piece that refers to the wild extravagant and powerful side ” says Maiá Zequi, designer and founder of the brand. We value the slow fashion movement because we believe in a fair and transparent production cycle.

Meet the Designer

Maiá Zequi grew up surrounded by fashion, accompanying her father who worked with development and creation of shoes.

The creative side was inherited from her mother, an artist who also designed and produced handbags.

Graduated in Fashion Design from IED (Istituto Europeo di Design) in 2004, Maiá worked with private label, developing handbags for major brands.

She worked for 10 years in this segment until deciding to create her own brand to sign her creations. Thus was born Matri.

Our story

Matri comes from matriarchal, a form of society where the leading role is played by women in the community.

Based on this concept, since our inception in 2014, we have positioned ourselves as a brand of strikingly designed accessories for resolute, independent women who do not follow the pattern but their own intuition.

The brand was known for being a pioneer in launching the Saskia bag model, better known as the bucket bag, with an unusual resin horn.

Other models were emerging and today the brand also has sandals, boots, belts, earrings, wallets and suitcase organizers.

With organic growth, Matri, which started with e-commerce sales, was invited to be present in reputable points of sale in Brazil.

In 2018 opened its first store at Shopping Cidade Jardim in São Paulo, meeting the brand concepts, a very green environment, connected with nature.
